6th National Football Championship, 1950!

In 1950, a new team appears on the horizon of our football. It is “Dinamo” of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Apart from Partizan and Vllaznia, they also claim the title.

Until the 6th week, all three teams are at the top of the standings. But here, in the 7th week, Dinamo suddenly lost in Kavaje 2-3 against the local team.

Well, a week later, they won 1-0 against Shkodra in Tirana.

Partizan remains alone at the top of the classification.

However, Dinamo does not agree with this situation, because in the first meeting with Partizan they won 1-0, reached it and caused their first defeat. On the other hand, Partizan beat the locals in Shkoder 3-1 and Dinamo , Partizan, undoubtedly the two best teams of our country in the 50s and 60s, who will always fight for the championship title, are put in the lead.

In the second phase, Dinamo, Partizani, Shkodra, Kavaja, Lezha and Vlora fight for the first to the 6th place.

While for the 7th to 12th place Korca, Durres, Tirana, Fieri, Elbasan and Pogradeci.

In the return match, Dinamo paid off the debt by defeating Kavaje in Tirana 7-0. Partizan followed Dinamo`s example by winning 5-0 against Vlore. Dinamo doesn’t stop there, but gets two “big” points in Shkoder, beating it 3-0, and in the end, Dinamo and Partizani are on equal points.

It is July 10, 1950. The date when they meet each other. Partizani – Dinamo, a well-known and central pair of our football. A beloved, attractive and strong refrain, these values that condition a monographic treatment, even if short, of this much-awaited duel. The duel would start on May 14, 1950.

Here is what the prominent sports commentator Anton Mazreku wrote a few days before this match: “The first contact between “Partizan” and “Dinamo”… contact that has the magnetic force of high caliber matches…

Think as much as you want, analyze as much as you can, weigh the players of both teams, but still you can’t find the conclusion. This is how this duel started when they lined up together to give their first show. “Partizan, as the “oldest”, was no more than 4 years old, while Dinamo was only 4 months old. In this match, among the players who took the field at the “Qemal Stafa” stadium, with the now traditional uniforms, were Loro Borici, Xhevdet Shaqiri, Slave Llambi, S. Jareci, Z. Gjinai, M. Karanxha, S. Peqini and S. Borici.

Although the inaugural match ended with only one goal from Dinamo, it left an impression.

But let’s go back to the “final” match of the championship on July 10. Borici scored first for the partisans in the 24th minute with a projectile beyond 25 meters, sending the ball into the “Dinamo” goal triangle. The response was quick; after four minutes (`29) Gjinali equalized and after a few seconds… Parapani scored again for Partizan, determined to defend the title he had for three years in a row.

Well, in the first minutes of the second half, Partizan’s desire to become champion for the fourth time was “suppressed” by Dinamo, who equalized. 2-2! It will be a draw until the end of the match. A match that was evaluated by the press as one of the “most beautiful games enjoyed by our audience” .

Dinamo is the champion thanks to the best goal difference, which was determined by the ratio of scored and conceded goals. At the end of the championship, the teams were ranked as follows:

This same year, in 1950, Dinamo deserved the Cup of the Republic, beating Partizan 2-1 in the final. It is their third official match on the day of the anniversary of the liberation of the Motherland.

Dinamo will become a well-known name in Albanian football for its continuous success even as a club in our sport.

March 5, 1950. The name “Dinamo” would be added to our teams. It is the first day of creation and marks the first success in the new chronicle that this team would write. In the meeting Dinamo-Beselidhja 3-0, the first goal would be scored by one of its pioneers, S. Peqini.

And at the end of this year, this new team will wear the first medals of the championship. Then it will win this title, 4 times in a row from 1950-1953, achieving a record as the only team that has won 4 national championships in a row (a record that lasted until 2000)
