A balanced championship. Partizan, the equal winner among equals.

Prologue!

14 teams participated in the 42nd National Football Championship. Dinamo was the reigning champion, whose footballers a season ago won the title convincingly with 37 points, five more than the second place taken by 17 Nentori.

It is the beginning of the 80s, the beginning of a golden decade of our football. The championship during this 10-year-old was of a quality level, matches with rivalry, balance, and breaking the hegemony created by only the permanent winners, Partizan – Dinamo –
17 Nentori – Vllaznia. Also during this decade there were quality footballers who without exaggeration could play with any European club of the time.

Although in the international arena, our clubs were a few steps behind in the face of the European ones. The lack of experience was noticed in many cases, but in some others the “bad luck” draw with very strong opponents also affected. However, once again our clubs played quality matches and were too difficult for the opponent.

As an example, Dinamo was unlucky with the draw before the start of the Champions Cup for the 1980-1981 season. In front of them was the great team of Ajax in the Netherlands, although several years had passed since the dominance of this club in Europe. Despite the beautiful game and efforts, Dynamo lost both games 0-2 and 0-1.

However, Dinamo will win against the East Germans of Karl Zais Jena, 1-0 in the framework of the UEFA Cup a year later.

 

In the ranks of the club, the well-known trio stood out: Shyqyri Ballgjini, Vasillaq Zeri and Ilir Pernaska, along with the goalkeeper Ilir Luarasi, Iliaz Ceco, Andrea Marko and others.

Meanwhile, in the 1978-1979 season, always in the frame for the Champions Cup, our champion team, Vllaznia, defeated 2-0 in Shkoder Austria Vienna, a very strong club with world-class players such as Robert Saren and Prohaska. Although Vllaznia had borrowed three players from other teams, (Kaci from Skenderbeu / Sh. Ballgjini from Dinamo and S. Berisha from Partizani) she performed at a high level and fully deserves the victory.

 

 

In this season in the ranks of  Vllaznia, stood out  the goalkeeper Gjergji Kushe, Lutfi Basha, Sait Canga, Luan Vukatana, Astrit Hafizi as well as veterans Medin Zhega, Sabah Bizi .

 

 

A season later, in 1979, Partizan defeated the strong team at that time, the Scots of Celltic, 1-0 in Tirana, valid for the Champions Cup! A real champions played for Partizan, such as the national captain Safet Berisha, one of the pillars of our national team in the defense department.

 

 

 

In 1980, Partizan reached a 0-0 draw in the second match of the Cup of Cups, against the Swedish strong Malmoe.

 

 

 

Hysi and Eksarko also stood out in this team in defense. The midfield was composed of a trio that combined physical strength and technique: Lame-Rragami and H. Ballgjini. Hado and Murati were in the attack, precisely the latter who was the author of the only goal against the Scots.

Even the other clubs that were preparing to start the new season, which we will talk about below, had many quality players in their composition, such as goalkeeper Kaci, Xhambazi, Milutin Kercici and Vincens Kercici of Skanderbeu. Millan Baci, Antonin Naci, Sulejman Mema, Arjan Bimo, Sengla, Gezdari alongside veterans Dibra e Dhales to 17 Nentori.  Flamurtari had in their ranks, the trio of attack Uran Xhafa, Spiro Curi and Vasil Ruci, along with Licaj and Haxhiu. At Luftetari, Kalluci, Gurma, Sefedin Braho, Luan Seiti stood out. Tomorri had a distinguished striker such as Perparim Kovaci who had partners such as Hodo, Qole, Kokalari.

Besa also never lacked talents: Mullaliu, Karriqi, Shtini, Kujtim Pagria, Merhori and above all Dashnor Bajaziti, the one who always knows how to score and even gathered with the National Team during the period 1980-1983.

At Labinoti, Gjika, Jorgaqi, Ducka, Ferdinand Lleshi stood out. Captain Pirro Gjeci, Gogoni and Gezdari also stood out to Traktori. Lokomotiva also had good players like Leshteni, Ikonomi, Hima. Meanwhile, Skuro, Sulejmani, Aleksander Koci were the best in the ranks of Naftetari.

This was more or less the situation, on the eve of the beginning of the 42nd National Championship for the First Category.

Partizan’s victory comes at the end of a very balanced championship, perhaps the most balanced in history.
The teams in the table stands for most of their journeyof this seson were attached to the two parts of the table, both in the fight for the title and in the fight for relegation.

A championship so balanced had never been seen, so that every victory brought a big shift in the first places of the classification and vice versa, every loss sent the teams into the vortex of the last places of the table.

Is this balance as a result of quality football and this championship that does not know strong or weak teams? Difficult to answer correctly!

The winner, Partizan, had a rather bad start, but from week to week, they managed to emerge as leaders with 5 points from the second place and 6 or 7 with the other followers. However, the losses on the row of Partisan, especially the one in Kucove and then against its closest rivals, Dinamo, and then 17 Nentori, in the first phase, put the team in difficulty to protect the lead so that Partisan slipped to third place. This was the weakest time segment for the team, which began in the 9th week with the sudden loss against Naftetari 1-0 in Kucove.

Dinamo was very close to the title, but even they didn’t stay long without making a mistake, leaving Partizan free way to get back up and then run in a sprint towards the title, which has all the merit because it knew how to react, but on the other hand, Dinamo and 17 Nentori too,  did not take advantage of the weak moment that the red team was going through.

Not a good start for 17 Nentori, but they later managed to find themselves and even later time during the end of the first phase, they entered the first three places of the competition for the title and even they were at the head of the championship for several weeks changing places sometimes with Dinamo and sometimes with Partizan.

And then, Partizan, stole the title of “Winter Champion” for the first phase only thanks to the best goal difference.

Weak start was also for Vllaznia, who after the victory against 17 Nentori  in the first week, it would take a long time to enter the first four-five leading teams of this championship, and with the difference that they did not manage to be entered to “the dance” of the three aforementioned teams, fighting for the title.

Good words can also be said for Flamurtari, which was in pursuit of the first three places, since the beginning of the championship, and which lost its pace somewhere in the last 2-3 games of the championship, landing in 9th place. Luftetari also enjoys the merit of being included in the group of teams that follow the first three places.

The same can be said more or less for Beselidhja, with the change that released itself at the end of the season, risking the staying position, although in most of the championship they stayed away from the grouping of teams that withdrew from the last places. In several matches, lezhjans proved that they were a strong team, especially in their field, and to be taken into consideration even by the superior teams of our football.

The great balance that accompanied this entire championship was also proven by the fight for survival in this first category. Five, six or more teams were in the vortex of the last places and for them there was no security until the last seconds of the closing of the championship. Skanderbeu looked to be saved from relegation, but the two consecutive losses in the last two weeks brought him down, to disappointing the Korca fans.

On contrary to the opinions, Traktori started the championship quite well, even in most of the half of the way the Lushnja team, was not positioned lower than the 5-6-7 places, but at the end they fell out of the category.

While the opposite happened with Naftetari, they started very weak, they had a moment of rise, achieving positive results and especially when they won against Partizan, avoiding the last place where they coexisted with Skanderbeu, but then they fell again at the end and only in the last week, they needed a bit of luck to escape from the relegation along with a bunch of other teams like Labinoti, Beselidhja, Lokomotiva, Tomorri, etc. who, thanks to the goal difference compared to Traktori and Skanderbeu, managed to survive in the 1-st category..

In this championship, many matches ended without goals, or with only one goal, stand out. Berat stood out above the rest. They had the strongest defense and also the weakest attack of the others.

In general, was this a detail that this season told us, the lack of finalization of actions or strong and well-organized defenses?

Maybe it’s both factors, but one thing can be said for sure, based on the numbers, both in the results and in the rankings, that this was the most balanced, strongest and most emotional championship in at least the last 10 years. in the history of Albanian football, where usually Partizan and Dinamo won the titles separated by distance. This time it was completely different.

The new season starts with 12 goals scored in the first week. Very few!

There were no surprises this week except, Dinamo’s defeat in Lushnje against Traktori, a match played on October 7, 1980.

The main game in Shkoder was won by the locals 1-0 against 17 Nentori.

Partizan does not go further than a 1-1 draw in Tirana against Skanderbeg’s Korca.

Besa, Flamurtari and Luftetari start well.

The second week brings 15 goals scored.

Three teams lead with three points, among which is Traktori, the surprise of this championship. After defeating Dinamo a week ago, they now reach a goalless draw against 17 Nentori in Tirana. The calendar has reserved two very strong opponents for lushnjars, but Traktori has managed to “steal” 3 points out of 4 possible.

Vllaznia loses badly in Lezhe; another draw for Partizan, this time 2-2 in Berat. Dinamo reacts well with a 4-2 victory against Naftetari, which closes the classification table.

Balance in the standings. There are a total of 9 teams with 2 points that share the places thanks to the goal difference, which even in four teams the goals are equal, 2-2.

Balance in the standings continues. Dinamo takes the lead thanks to a better goal difference. Partizan achieves its first victory in this championship after two draws. Vllaznia does not go further than a 1-1 draw against Lokomotiva in Shkoder. Good Flamurtari, after a clear 2-0 victory against Skanderbeg in Vlora, ranks second, sharing it with Besa thanks to the goal difference.

Traktori is stuck in its field against Beselidhja, which presents another surprise at this initial stage of this season. Naftetari closes the table with zero points, not even a win in these three weeks!

17 Nentori wins the derby against Dinamo 3-2 in  a match with strong emotions and goals. Besa and Partizani take the lead with full points.

Beselidhja surprises by ranking third with equal points together with Flamurtari, Lokomotiva and 17 Nentori. 

The balance in the ranking continues. Except for Naftetari, which still hasn’t won a single point, the others are almost united in the group, where a positive result can put them in the first places and why not the leading!

9 goals scored in the 5th week. A figure that shows the weakness of scoring goals but also the balance of the teams this season.

Only Partizan leads. He doesn’t like to share the lead with anyone and that’s how he goes and wins in Kavaja against Besa, although with a minimal result in the most important match of the week.

The second runner-up, Flamurtari gets an important victory against the team of Elbasan, Labinoti.

Dinamo climbs after the minimal victory with Beselidhja which is doing a good form ….Traktori returns to victory and climbs to 5th place with equal points with another surprise team in the first weeks of this campaign, precisely Beselidhja. 

17 Nentori and Vllaznia are disappointed with their unsustainable results, especially Vllaznia, which is held only by draws, the shkodrans reached the third draw in Shkoder, and has not won since the first week!

Finally, Naftetari, the first two points of kucovars that are achieved in their field against Lokomotiva. 1-0, that’s enough to motivate the boys of the team, we have to say that they play fast football, even though the results haven’t come so far.

It is enough to take a look at the classification table. What “doesn’t work” in these first weeks is the ranking of Vllaznia and 17 Nentori….

After defeating Flamurtari in the game of this week, Partizan is now leading by three points from the second place where Dinamo is ranked. The latter after a goalless draw in Durres, shares second place with Flamurtari and Traktori.

Okay Traktori! Where has it ever been seen that Traktori ranks second in the table? However, Traktori and Beselidhja in these six weeks, continue to make a very good appearance showing that their fields should be taken into consideration by others. Even Tomorri is not left behind if we talk about dignified performance and competition, honoring the championship.

Luftetari, “long jump” in the table. After the victory in Kavaja against Besa, the team from the 11th place a week ago, now thanks to goal difference, they have moved to the 5th place with 6 points, as much as they actually have Besa, Beselidhja, Lokomotiva, Tomorri and 17 Nentori.

Disappointing is the form of Vllaznia (as much as that of nentorasve), which is badly affected in Elbasan. Shkodrans feel the “hot air” of the last two positions in danger of being relegated from the top category.

The duel for this area is won by Naftetari, defeating Skanderbeg’s rivals in Korce and even leaving the Korca`s team in last place.

Partizan wins in Shkoder and strengthens its position as the leader, distancing itself by 4 points.

All other teams are almost of a group. So we have four teams with 8 points, as many with 7 points, two teams with 6 and 5 points. Even though Skanderbeg is in the last place, he does not feel “lonely”.

To mark out are the victories of Partizan and 17 Nentori. The first one benefits from the draws of the followers this week, while the second one has climbed five places in the ranking, after the victory over Lokomotiva.

What about the others?
All draws, confirming this week also a balance of the teams as a whole.

What is happening with Vllaznia? The shkodrans have not won since the 1st week. Thanks to the negative goal difference, they now share 13th place with Naftetari. However, it is still too early to judge or predict its path, as well as that of the other teams, seeing that we are still in the first weeks, but also the balance that is appearing in this championship.

The lack of goals continues. Lack of attackers or because of strong defenses and equal teams?

Partizani marches in the lead. “Goleade” against Traktori, 5-0!  Victories of Flamurtari and Dinamo, which are four points behind him. Climbing of Tirana to the 4th place.

Surprisingly from the 5th place and below, the teams are tight. Every win or loss can bring them a big shift in the classification.

Vllaznia gets a 0-0 draw in Kavaje but remains in 13th place!!!

The 9th week of the championship brings 12 goals, together with the surprise of the week, when Naftetari beat Partizan 1-0. The leading Partizan loses ground in Kucove as it faces an enthusiasm and persistence of the local team Naftetari, which showed more desire to win the match.

Dinamo is second, wins defeating Labinoti in Tirana 2-0.
After, there are four teams with 10 points: Victory of Beselidhja, which “sinks” Skanderbeg and elevates them to the 4th place, along with 17 Nentori, which stops in its field from Tomori.

Flamurtari, who falls in Shkoder from Vllaznia and which in turn achieves the second victory in this championship.

Traktori defeated Besa in Lushnje, confirming once again their form, in spite of the suffered loss less than a week ago.

From the 7th to the 13th place, there remains a grouping of balanced teams from where anything can happen.

16 are the goals scored this week. Better!!!  Two matches ended without goals.

Two losses in a row that cost Partizan a lot. Now they share the lead with Dinamo, which needed one goal to equalize Partizan with a point.

The victory of Flamurtari against Traktori with a clean score of 3-0 stands out. Now they are now third, among the three bests in Albanian football.

While Traktori loses ground and seems to have lost the brilliance of the first weeks. Beselidhja continues its position in the top places of the table, even, thanks to the goal average (+2) it is positioned before 17 Nentori, which leaves the field of Elbasan without goals (0-0). Tomorri reaches the 5th draw without goals 0-0 in 10 weeks.

Besa reacts, but above all Vllaznia. The first 3-0 against Naftetari, who disappointed his fans after that 1-0 victory with Partizan, a week ago. Shkodrans achieved the second victory in a row with a strong 4-2 in their field, taking the 7th place.

At the end of the table, Skenderbeu wins with Lokomotiva, tying it with a point. Naftetari and Labinoti do not feel safe.

The balance of the teams continues from the 5th to the last place, which are separated by only 4 difference points. Equilibrium also appears in the first places. Interesting fight for the head that changes this week. Even though Dinamo draws in Tirana with Besa, they take first place.

What is happening with Partizan? The third loss in a row, two of which were against Dinamo and now against 17 Nentori.

Flamurtari marches by tying Partizan with 14 points, after the victory in Kucove. Naftetari, which until two weeks ago was “flying on the wings of enthusiasm”, now returns to the last place, although with equal points with the Korcars, who have the “best” goal average, -5, compared to -6 of the Kucovars.

This week, Traktor’s victory in Lushnje against Vllaznia (1-0) stands out. Labinoti and Lokomotiva move ahead in the table, the latter defeats Tomori and even surpasses it in the ranking, again thanks to their goal difference (-1).

Equally interesting is the situation of the teams to stay in the category, which, as we said above, differ by only 4 points from the 5th to the last place.

The New Year starts with only 8 goals scored in the 12th week. Very little! Four draws and three matches that end with a score of 0-0. Such balance had never been seen before.

The card game is in Vlora, where the locals share a point with Dinamo. Meanwhile, in Tirana, Partizan defeated Beselidhja 1-0 to regain the lead only thanks to the scored goals, +8 to Dinamo’s +5.

It goes up on 17 Nentori after the victory in Kavaje against Besa. Traktori doesn’t give up, even without goals against Luftetari, one point is enough to stay in 5th place.

Shkodrans hit, in their field, they win 3-0 and now are positioned in the 6th place. Tomorri, a “predictable” team in 12 weeks has achieved 5 times each result 0-0 and 1-1!!! Skanderbeg leaves the last place, in which Naftetari falls.

Now the first phase ends with three teams at the top with 17 points. Partizan and Dinamo have added 17 Nentori, which defeated Flamurtari in the match played on 17 January. In fact, “tiranasit” had dropped their candidacy for the place of the leader, a week ago when they won in Kavaje 2-0. 5 goals scored and none conceded in two games 17  Nentori. While Partizan and Dinamo both drop one point, respectively in Durres against Lokomotiva and in Tirana against Vllaznia. Thanks to the goal difference, Partizan is the winter champion.

Four teams with equal points close the ranking of the first phase, which shows that the fight to stay in the category remains more open than ever and even leaves room for surprises.

Partizan does not go further than a draw in Korce and loses the head. Now 17 Nentori and Dinamo lead the table standings. 17 Nentori  win against Vllaznia cleanly 3-0, deserving first place thanks to the best goal average. Dinamo, who played on Saturday, February 7, beat Traktori 2-0.

All three first teams are followed by Flamurtari, who tied this week in Lezhe 1-1.

Quite interesting and in a total balance, the situation is presented from the 5th to the last place. Grouping of teams that fight for standing in the category.

Important victories of Tomorri, Naftetari and Lokomotiva. Besa lands in 10th place, in the vortex of teams for survival. However, everything remains open!

16 goals scored, of course, are not many and speak of a deficiency in the finalization of actions. Anyway, it seems to be an interesting championship, all in balance, open and above all active, alive both in the first places and in the “hot” zone of relegation.

This week, the loss of the leader Dinamo in Tirana against Luftetari 1-3 stands out. Gjirokastrites led by Sefedin Braho and Luan Seiti are quick in their actions and achieve a result that puts them in the contending teams, seeing the balance among the teams in each part of the ranking.

Meanwhile, 17 Nentori, doesn’t forgive, he scores 4 goals to Naftetari and regains the lead. The “nentoras” are the only team that have scored more than any other so far this season.

Disappointed from Partizani, who somehow releases the head. In Elbasan, Labinoti gives his fans a win, albeit minimal, against a big-name opponent.

The same thing is done by the “vlonjates” in Korce as they lose 1-0, going down to the 6th place. It is strange, but thanks to the balance that characterizes this championship, now Luftetari and Vllaznia have been added to the claims, the latter defeating the locals in Durres 2-0.

Yes, finally Vllaznia seems to have returned to its form, among the leaders and rivals for the title, even though this season is still far away. All three teams are equal on points, 17!!!

Others: Beselidhja defeats Traktori in Lezhe 2-1 in a rival match, surpassing “lushnjaret” with one point in the ranking.

Besa and Tomorri don’t want to “damaged” each other and share a point in Berat. Tomorri marks the second game in a row without goals and the 7th in 16 weeks!!!

The team appears to be strong in defense as well as incapable of scoring goals. This is well shown by the goal average figures of 6-10, being the team that scored the least and conceded the least after the 16 games played.  

Now it is Naftetari that goes down to the bottom of the classification.

There are 15 goals scored this week.

Dinamo regains the lead by winning even though at least 1-0 precisely against its rivals
17 Nentori the match of the week. Partizan’s victory in Gjirokaster makes him not in distance from the first place. Just 2 points, in this extremely balanced championship, are not enough far to lose hopes for the title.

The ascent of Vllaznia continues, another victory, this time in Shkoder against Skanderbeu.

With the same result, Flamurtari also wins against Tomorri, sharing together with Vllaznia the 4th and 5th places, with equal points, 19.

After them, there are Besa, Luftetari and Beselidhja with the same points, 17. Lezhjans have won in Stalin City (1-0) showing that they do not want to go down to places 7-8, while Naftetari remains at the bottom also this week, as everything remains open and hopeful in the fight for existence in the first category.

Traktori is going, low and lower, towards the dangerous area.

Besa’s 5-0 wins, that adjusts the goal difference is noticeable!

Only 9 goals in the 18th week, they are very few. Among other things, two results 0-0, and two others 1-0.  The first two and the last two teams in the ranking are respectively with equal points. 

17 Nentori and Dinamo lead with equal points and only thanks to the goal difference, 17 Nentori is positioned in the first place after the 1-0 victory in Tirana against Luftetari.

Dinamo travels for victory in Lezhe, but does not go further than a 0-0 draw. Beselidhja shows once again that it is a team to be taken into consideration.

Right behind, Partizani follows them with only one point difference. The Reds played on Saturday and have won 2-1 against Besa.

Flamurtari needs one point to pass Vllaznia, which lost in Berat against Tomorri (2-0). “Beratasit” are the only team that have scored 8 goals so far in these 18 weeks.

In the last places: Traktori takes one point from Korcars and equals with points Labinoti (15), while Naftetari, despite winning in Durres, remains at the bottom again, with equal points (14) but only “thanks” to minus five goals from Skanderbeu.

Unexpected loss of Dinamo in Tirana against Lokomotiva. The victory of 17 Nentori 2-1, against Beselidhja, makes the Tirana people lead alone. 17 Nentori is the team that has scored the most so far, a total of 27 goals.

Partizan’s third consecutive victory, defeating Flamurtari in Vlora, its closest follower in the most important match of the week.

Now the three first place teams, 17 Nentori, Partizani and Dinamo are separated by 6, 5 and 4 points and it seems that the battle for the title will be played between them.

A beautiful and exciting match took place in the “Vojo Kushi” stadium in Shkodra, even though Vllaznia did not manage to win, it played a beautiful football in front of its fans. Labinoti took advantage of the mistakes in the shkodrans defense and managed to get a point in the draw with 4 scored goals.

Besa ascends. Now, after the important victory in Gjirokaster, she jumps into 6th place and thanks to the goal average, it is better positioned in front of Beselidhja, which continues to resist by “navigating” in places 6-7.

Tomorri apparently specializes in 0-0 goalless matches. Even Traktori reaches the second draw in a row without goals.

The next important match of the week, starting from the situation created at the bottom of the table, it was the one developed in Stalin City between Naftetari and Skanderbeu, a direct challenge of rivals to survive in the first category. With all the great interest, that match ended goalless 0-0, leaving everything open as it was before.

Balanced and quite interesting, the rest of the classification is presented.

There are the last four teams separated, by two with 16 points and two with 15 points, but not even Luftetari, Tomorri (17 points) are safe, as they feel the pull of the magnetic field of the last two places.

Partizan wins nicely in Shkoder (3-1) and here it is back at the top with equal points (27) and thanks to only one goal difference, 17 Nentori leaves the first place this week. Dinamo starts behind them after winning 1-0 in Korce, leaving Skanderbeu in last place.

The draw with four goals in Kavaja, and the loss of Vllaznia in its field, favors Flamurtari this week, which takes fourth place with one point more than shkodrans and kavajas.

Important victory for the Luftetari against Beselidhja, and also for Labinoti against the Traktori, the latter loses ground and slips to the penultimate place.

Valuable draws between Lokomotiva and Tomori against Naftetari, where the kucovars leave the two hot spots for the 2nd category. However, nothing remains certain, as does the fight for the title, which continues to remain open now with three teams that change the lead every week.

This week we also have a change of the first place as well as the last places. Meanwhile, in the middle of the table, from places 4 to 7, 4 teams are tied with 21 points each.

Specifically, Partizan’s victory in Lushnje and the loss of 17 Nentori in Korce makes the red team regain the top spot. Dinamo, wins against Tomorri 3-1 and follows, starting behind him with a difference of one point. The loss of 17 Nentori in Tirana stands out, which drops the Tirana team to third place, three points away from the leader.

Another beautiful victory of Luftetari, this time against rivals vlonjats, moves them to the 6th place. In fact, Flamurtari, Besa and Vllaznia have the same number of points (21), but even though they lose, Flamurtari remain in 4th place thanks to the better goal difference.

An exciting draw in Shkoder, where, as always in Vllaznia matches, the goals are scored together with the beautiful and attacking game of the Shkodra players who play and let the opponents play. Completely different from Tomorri, who this time “stuck” the strategy of goalless matches, losing 3-1 to Dynamo.

The long-awaited match was the one between the “rivals” this week of the local Beselidhja and Lokomotiva, which ended in a draw, leaving both in the 8th and 10th places, respectively, as they were a week ago.

In recent positions we have a total change. Now Traktori, after the minimal loss against Partizan, is at the bottom with 16 points. Excellent reaction of Skenderbeu who wins in Tirana as we mention before, currently climbing to 12th place with equal points, however, with Naftetari (17) who gets a goalless draw in Kucove against Labinoti.

15 goals of the 22nd week! Everything continues to remain open, especially the survivals in the first category. While three teams are fighting for the championship title, there are 5-6 other teams, from the 9th place, who are in the vortex of relegation.

The three first place teams win, maintaining their positions from the previous week.

Partizan “takes out his anger” on Naftetari for the 0-1 loss in the first phase in Kucove, scoring 4 goals this time (4-1). Dinamo also wins in Elbasan, remaining one point behind Partizan. “17 Nentori” defeats Tomorri in the difficult field of Berati (1-0) and remains third.

Then Besa is in 4th place with 23 points, after the minimal victory (1-0), sinking Traktori more and more at the bottom of the table. It is Besa who are now followed by Flamurtari, Luftetari and Vllaznia, all three with 22 points. In Vlora, everything ends in a draw between two rivals who don’t want to be “hurt each other” and thus share one point. 
(1-1). Luftetari also drew in Durres, but without goals (0-0).

Since the 19th week, Traktori have achieved only one draw and three losses in a row, leaving a lot of the ground of safety in which the team was “swimming” and going with the flow now towards the last place. Well, the team started good and also continues the championship until the 18th week…. then what happened to Traktori players?

Another beautiful victory for Skanderbeg, this time against Beselidhja, which, like Traktori, has started to release in these weeks, seeing itself with 19 points in the places of uncertainty for survival in this category. After Beselidhja, there are still Tomorri with 18 points and Naftetari with 17. Korca now seems to be on the rise of the hot zone, breaking away from the last place with three and the penultimate place with two points.

In this week, 11 goals are scored. In four games only 2 goals are scored. Two results with intact nets 0-0 and two more with only 1 goal (1-0)! It is weak in the finalization, although the ranking figures show a complete balance.

The match of the card, the one between Dinamo and Partizan, ended with intact nets,
0-0, leaving no room for any change regarding the leadership. Although 17 Nentori won 2-0 against Labinoti, they again remained in third place, Dinamo tied in the second place with (31) but it is 2 points away from the first place.

Even the other challenges of this week were quite interesting. Thus, the victory of Vllaznis in Gjirokaster (1-0), and of Flamurtari in Lushnje makes both of these teams walk “hand in hand” together with 24 points behind the three contenders for the title.

Traktori – Flamurtari and Naftetari – Besa were also matches that attracted attention and interest. Lushnjaret loses again, now remaining at the bottom with three distant points….while Naftetari, with the minimal victory over Besa, climbs to 12th place with 19 points.

Tomori’s loss in Lezhe positions them in 13th place, which means they are relegated from the category.

Lokomotiva-Skenderbeu, “agree” with a dry 0-0, which is enough for them to stay as far away from the zone as possible.

The championship has entered the closing and quite interesting phase. Two more weeks separate us to know the champion team and the two teams that will be relegated.

Partizan continues to lead although with a point. They defeated their rightful rival 17 Nentori, 3-2, after a match not only with goals, but accompanied by strong emotions for the fans of both sides. After this loss, the hopes for the title of Tirana are now reduced. Meanwhile, Dinamo is one point behind the leaders, and it seems that the title will now be played between them. “Dinamovitet” convincing with the victory in Kavaje 3-1 against Besa, which this season is characterized by ups and downs.

Once again, a spectacle and beautiful football with lots of goals in Shkoder where Vllaznia beat Traktori 3-2 moving them to the 4th place. Traktori in free fall, the 5th loss in a row. “Lushnjaret” ends in the second category two weeks before the end. Their team does not win since the 11th week against Vllaznia 1-0 in Lushnje, in that historic victory for them. What happened with this team that in the first phase “floated” in the classification from places 5-8? Since the 11th week, actually two weeks before the end of the first phase, Traktori has achieved 4 draws and 9 losses so far after the 24th week.

“Naftetarasit” hit well in Vlore (2-1), surprising everyone.

Reactions from, Labinoti who wins against Beselidhja (3-0) and Tomorri against Lokomotiva (2-1). However, nothing has changed for Berati, they remain in the penultimate place again, while Naftetari after the victory in Vlora (1-0) are one point ahead in 12th place.

Now from the 7th to the 13th place, there is an unimaginable balance. 7 teams do not feel at all assured to stay in the first category, seeing that the difference in points is not more than two!!!

In this grouping of teams, another beautiful victory of Skanderbeg 1-0 against Luftetari stands out, which even the Korcars equalized with a point, somehow avoiding survival positions.

With the exception of Traktori, which fell from the category, nothing else is clear. Closing the championship so balanced, especially for survival, had never been seen before, at least in the last 10-20 years.

The draw in Lezhe gives “breath” to the “lezhians”, but for Partizan, the loss of a point could cost them a lot, a week before the end. Dinamo takes advantage, and wins 2-1 against Flamurtari, equaling its historical rival with 35 points. Now, each at the top of the table in the final sprint for the title that remains open until the last 90 minutes of this very balanced championship.

The victory of “17 Nentori” does not change anything, as the Tirana team secured third place no matter how the last 90 minutes will go.

Naftetari “shakes” Vllaznia with a shocking 3-0 and is very close to staying in the first category, a draw in the last week might good enough. It should be mentioned that this heavy loss for Vllaznia was unforgivable. Meanwhile, Luftetari wins 1-0 and “sends” Traktori to the second category mathematically, also a week before the end.

Maybe Korca team thought too much about the times they escaped from the fall, after the match against Tomorri, maybe Skanderbeu thought it was easy. They were punished
(0-1) in their field, now waiting for the last 90-minutes of an endless anxiety.

23 points have a grouping of 3 teams starting with Besa,  Lokomotiva, and Naftetari, for which one point is enough to stay even next year in the first category.

Labinoti, Beselidhja, Tomorri and Skenderbeu have 22 points, and they have to play a decisive 90 minutes to determine their fate.

It is the last week of the championship, the week where the champion team of Albania for this season will be recognized and also who will accompany Traktori in the second category.

 Final 90 minutes!

Everyone is listening to the radio, where the show “From one match to another” is broadcast! All attention is focused on Tirana in the Partizani – Lokomotiva challenge and also in Shkoder in the big clash of the titans, Vllaznia – Dinamo. Of course, without forgetting the fields of the stadiums “Labinoti” in Elbasan, “Tomorri” in Berat and “Besa” in Kavaje where the matches are played for survival.

And Partizan wins against Lokomotiva 2-1; Dinamo “stuck” in Vllaznia 1-1.

Partizan is happy and starts celebrating the title of champion. The team with the championship medals is greeted by its fans.

Dinamo comes out of “Vojo Kushi” upset even though they tried hard, it doesn’t go beyond one point, not enough for the champion title.

Labinoti gives the victory to his sports fans and the certainty of staying in the first category. On the contrary, Skenderbeu, which escaped the whirlwind of two dangerous places, with two losses in the last two weeks, saw itself on the way to the second category. Besa – Beselidhja “agree” with no goals and one point. Tomorri and Luftetar do the same thing. Why risk it?   

Meanwhile, the other two matches in Vlora and Lushnje will take place to complete the calendar. Flamurtari has lost its previous brilliance, losing again for the third time in a row and falling to 8th place!

Traktori has nothing left but the memories from the first phase. Lushnjaret  they also lost the last match against Naftetari (2-3).
