1949 | 5th Albanian National Football Championship!

Nine teams take part in the national championship: “Partizani”, “Durresi”, “Shkodra”, “Tirana”, “Kavaja”, “Korca”, “Elbasani”, “Fieri”, “Shijaku”.

The teams in this edition receive the nominations of the cities. Even in this championship, duel Partizani-Vllaznia continues, where other teams seek to enter, first, “Tirana” and then “Durresi”.

In the first phase, “Partizani” defeated “Shkodra” 3-1 in Tirana. And when, on July 24, they beat it 2-1 in Shkoder, they lost three points.

This is the 13th victory of “Partizan”, which has had only two draws in its activity: with “Durres” in Durres 0-0 and with “Kavaje” in Kavaje 1-1.

On the last day, “Partizani” beat Kavaje 6-0, while “Tirana”, which lost the first meeting with “Shkodra” 2-0, was satisfied with only a goalless draw 0-0.

For these three years, Fagu, Demneri, Sakiqi, Pelingu, Llambi, who is also the coach of the team, Teliti, Parapani, Gjinali, L. Borici have stood out.

Thus, “Partizani” is the champion for the third time and this time in a more convincing way against “Shkodra”, which in the last two years it has suddenly come out ahead, only thanks to the better goal difference.

This year, “Partizani” won the Cup of the Republic for the second time, again defeating “Tirana” 1-0 in the final.
